Music Theory

Develop your music theory knowledge following the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) syllabus. Lessons are suitable for guitarists or other instrumentalists and provide a strong foundation. Theory helps you understand music, communicate effectively with other musicians, and build confidence. These lessons prepare students for exams and practical application in playing and composition.

Grades 1-8

Practical & Theory

Work towards graded exams with recognised boards such as Trinity College London or Rock School. Lessons cover practical playing, technique, and preparation for recorded performance submissions. Classical guitar grades are also available. With clear goals, structured practice, and focused tuition, students steadily improve, building confidence and skills that support musical achievement across instruments and performance settings.

Learn a new skill

Build confidence performing at an open mic through structured tuition focused on personal development. Lessons cover acoustic finger-style or electric guitar, helping you create a polished, playable repertoire. You’ll gain real performance experience while improving timing, tone, and musicality. These lessons combine skill development with practical experience, enabling students to perform confidently in public settings.

If you’re new to the guitar, it’s essential to start with the right mindset. Lessons provide clear goals, structure, and guidance to ensure steady progress. Whether learning a new skill or rekindling an old ambition, students learn effective practice habits. Clear Progress

 

Students work towards clear outcomes such as building a small repertoire, completing music theory grades, or preparing for graded exams. Progress is measured by achieving a grade, or performing at an open mic at a pub near you.

Structured Weekly Lessons


Lessons are typically 30, 45, or 60 minutes, focusing on practical playing, technique, or music theory depending on your goals. Lessons are term time with availability on Sunday, 9am – 4pm Monday – Wednesdays after school and Thursdays until 6:00pm.

Achieve a Qualification

 

Progress towards a personal goal such as performing at an open mic or completing graded exams with organisations such as the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, Rockschool, or Trinity College London.
