Questions Should I start on electric or acoustic?Start on the guitar that matches the music you want to play. Electric guitars have lighter strings and thinner necks, so many beginners find them easier on the fingers. Do I need an amp for lessons?For in-person lessons I have amps available. For practice at home you will need a small amp or headphone amp. For online lessons, a small amp or audio interface works well. Can I learn the songs I like?Yes. Songs you love are the best motivation. We balance them with the technique that makes them easier to play. Can electric guitar count for my DofE?Yes.
