    Learning the guitar as part of your Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) Award is a great way to build dexterity, rhythm, hand-eye coordination, reduce stress, and boost both creativity and cognitive skills.

    What You’ll Achieve at Each Leve

    Bronze (3 months)

    • Play clear open chords with strumming patterns
    • Learn the 12-bar blues
    • Explore basic rhythms
    • Try simple riffs and tunes on classical, acoustic, or electric guitar

    Silver (6 months)

    • Expand into intermediate chord shapes
    • Master new strumming and picking patterns
    • Begin exploring music theory (ABRSM)
    • Gain confidence performing short pieces

    Gold (12 months)

    • Play confidently and independently
    • Understand effective practice routines
    • Possibly achieve Grade 3 Music Theory (ABRSM)
